Files for Television

Indiana University's official marks can be used by television graphic artists. Available here are the block IU, the Indiana University signature in horizontal presentation, and the Indiana University signature in vertical presentation. EPS files are available for applications using vector art, and TIF files have been prepared for all major United States television formats.

These marks are offered for download as packaged ZIP files.

Preparing Artwork for Use

When using the TIF files, the included alpha channel is used to select the shape of the actual mark, as the top visible layer shows only large blocks of color. This method creates edges with the highest quality anti-aliasing on a variety of backgrounds.

All files use properly defined colors as expressed in the RGB color space. These colors will need to be converted properly by those working in the ITU-R BT.601 color space (16-235 levels). The standard definition 720x486 and 720x480 files look slightly stretched horizontally because they use non-square pixels. These graphics will display properly when imported into D1 or DV projects. All other TIFs use square pixels.
